Alicia Silva Villanueva is the founder and president
of the Synergy Design Studio, a design firm which

integrates interior design, green building and feng shui.
She is a self-described avant-garde entrepreneur who strives
to create better ways of doing business while focusing on
the environment, personal well-being and quality of life.
She is a recognized industry authority and is often called
upon to speak about green building, green materials and vital
living spaces.
Before founding Synergy Design Studio in 2005, Ms. Silva
founded and opened the first Amada Luna in Mexico City in
1994, co-founding another Amada Luna store in Seattle in
2003 (now Greener Lifestyles, LLC). Amada Luna is a store
with interior design and consulting services, which is devoted
to combining sustainably produced home furnishings with
style and contemporary design. While at Amada Luna, Ms.
Silva juggled managing the business with developing a line
of sustainable building materials, providing training and
workshops on feng shui concepts and interior design, while
acting as an interior designer and certified Qi-Mag feng
shui consultant.
Ms. Silva's clientele for award-winning designs include
many prominent businesses and professionals, including the
Mexican National Bank (BANAMEX), the Ashworth cottages in
Seattle, the interior design for the Hjarta and Florera
buildings in Seattle, television sets for Televisa SA de
CV and Television Azteca SA de CV, and many, many more.
Very active in the green sustainable movement, Ms. Silva
belongs to the U.S. Green Building Council, the International
Interior Design Association, the American Society of Interior
Design, the Northwest Eco-Building Guild and Built Green.
Ms. Silva holds a BA in Interior Architecture from the Universidad
de las Americas Puebla, in Puebla, Mexico, and a diploma
in Landscape Architecture from Universidad del Claustro
de Sor Juana in Mexico City. She has also completed a Sustainable
Building Advisor program in Seattle.
