Roger Schmid is an international expert in emotional
and sensorial marketing. Mr. Schmid is trained in olfaction,
and has worked around the world to create scents for fine
fragrances, personal and home care products, and laundry
products for over 30 years.
Originally from Switzerland, Mr. Schmid grew up in Italy
and now splits his time between homes in
New
Jersey and Paris. Perfect for global business, he is fluent
in Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
In 2005, Mr. Schmid founded Nose About, LLC, based in
New Jersey, which is a multidisciplinary network of experts
in scent and the senses.
Mr. Schmid has collaborated worldwide with top corporations
such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Colgate, LVMH,
and Estee Lauder, as well as with fashion designers, celebrities,
and other cultural and artistic leaders. His management
experience with leading fragrance and flavor suppliers
such as Givaudan, Firmenich, and Symrise has included
responsibilities as Global Account Manager, Regional President
Europe, and Worldwide Division President. He has managed
budgets of over $200 million, covering over 20 subsidiaries.
He is a board member of the Fragrance Foundation of America.
Mr. Schmid is also active in creating educational opportunities
for those in the multi-sensorial field. He co-founded
the post-graduate level Universita dell'Immagine in Milan,
Italy, which is due to reopen in New York. His first book,
on how to travel, is scheduled to be published in Germany
this year.
Along with his commitment to higher education, Mr. Schmid
also participates in environmental and pediatric AIDS.
He is the International Director of the Great Rift Valley
Trust in Kenya, and is also a participant in activities
with the Aspen Institute and the Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
