Stephen Quinn is the CEO and Managing
Director
of Ratner Biomedical Group (RBG), an intellectual property
firm dedicated to the fields of biocompatible materials,
tissue engineering and drug delivery. At RBG, Mr. Quinn
has formed a board of science advisors to facilitate the
exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience with other
frontrunners in the biomedical field. He serves on the
biotech screening committee for Alliance of Angels, giving
him a unique perspective and edge on understanding cutting
edge life science technologies with potential.
Mr. Quinn co-founded Portfolio Effect, LLC, a Puget Sound-based
private equity partnership in 2004, and was resident as
an employee when three different technology startups as
they went through the IPO process. Mr. Quinn has nearly
20 years' experience in the technology industry, at companies
ranging from Adobe to Claris, including 8 years in managerial
roles at Microsoft.
Having a strong technology writing, testing and planning
background, Mr. Quinn built and lead teams of software testers
on OLAP, Data Mining and other projects, While at Microsoft,
he was leader of tools development for testing in the Natural
Language Group.
Using his skills learned across the software industry,
Mr. Quinn has written several publications, including the
book Professional SQL Server Analysis Services 2005 Using
MDX (with Siva Harinath), the article Testing, Testing
(with Muralidhar Sitaram) and other feature articles in
Datamation and InfoWorld magazines.
Mr. Quinn has a Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology
from California State University, Chico, and also has an
MBA from the University of Washington in Seattle.
