Howard E. Geltzer
High-Tech Public Relations Strategy Expert

Howard E. Geltzer has been a front-runner in public relations for over 25 years, and is prominent in the consumer electronics industry. His extensive experience includes planning and executing crisis communications programs for leading companies.

In 1979, Mr. Geltzer co-founded Geltzer & Company, Inc., a New York-based top-fifty PR agency, where he served as chairman until it was acquired by Publicis, in 2000. Mr. Geltzer is now Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Publicis.

Since beginning his career at General Electric and before founding his own company, Mr. Geltzer has worked for Litton Industries, McGraw-Hill, and Family Health magazine. He has also created a number of award-wining programs and product launches, including the Sony Walkman and personal CD players, Motorola Pagewriter, Black & Decker house wares, Morton Airbags, and Toshiba Digital Copiers.

In addition to public relations work, Mr. Geltzer is active in the arts and further education. He serves on the board of Ensemble Studio Theater and is also a counselor for the SCORE unit of the Small Business Administration, where he helps people start and grow new businesses. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies and FIT Continuing and Professional Studies.

Mr. Geltzer earned both a BA and a Masters degree from Northwestern University, where he serves on the board of advisors of the Medill School of Journalism. He also served in the U.S. Army after graduation.
