Rabbi Daniel E. Bridge is Rabbi Emeritus
and the Greenstein Family Executive Director of Hillel

Foundation for Jewish Campus Life at the University of
Washington, where he has been since 1988. He also served
as adjunct faculty to the University of Washington on
numerous local and national boards, including the central
Conference of American Rabbis.
Rabbi Bridge collaborated with long-term colleague
and friend Rabbi Anson Laytner to translate and adapt
The Animals' Lawsuit Against Humanity. This story
is an incredible multi-faith adaptation of an ancient
Iraqi tale in which animals all speak a common language
and try to demand humane treatment from the humans who
just won't listen. The story is an uplifting allegory
to how we treat all life on Earth, including animals,
the environment, and even other human beings. At the
conclusion of the story, the reader is left with a feeling
that there is hope for humanity, the entire animal kingdom,
and maybe even the planet.
Rabbi Bridge holds degrees in a huge array of disciplines,
including German Language and Literature, Microbiology,
and Hebrew Letters and also holds a Certificate in Jewish
Communal Service. In the past, he has worked with the
California State Commission on the Changing family,
and also as Assistant Director of the Pacific Southwest
Council for Reform Judaism.
